Welcome to TCB

There was a time when Britain was powered by coal.

From the North East to South Wales, from Yorkshire to Nottinghamshire, men walked into the dark before dawn and came back up long after the light had faded. Entire towns were built around the pits. The mines did not just fuel industry – they shaped communities, families and identity.

Coal kept the lights on. It kept factories running. It put food on tables.

Today, much of that world has disappeared. The headstocks have gone. The shafts have been sealed. The sound of boots on gravel at shift change has fallen silent.

What remains are the stories.

Stories told at kitchen tables. Stories passed down through generations. The old miner’s lamp hanging in the hallway. The black and white photographs in a drawer somewhere. The grit, the humour, the resilience and the pride.

The Coal Bucket is our nod to that spirit.

We are here to share stories from Britain and beyond – the ones that matter, the ones that make you think, and the ones that deserve to be remembered. News with backbone. Stories with substance. Voices that echo a little louder than the headlines.

Pull up a chair.

There is always another story to tell.

Thank you for reading.
